Tours & Attractions
With natural wonders and stunning architecture, there’s much to explore.
Buxton has a rich history spanning well over a two millennia. Throughout the times of the Romans, Normans, Tudors, Georgians, Victorians, World Wars and right up to the present day, Buxton has a story to tell and many ways in which to tell it.
Some of the smaller features of the town can be seen on the Buxton Heritage Trail. Make sure you see St Ann’s Well opposite the Crescent for a free taste of Buxton Water, the fan window at Buxton Station and the still-in-use, Victorian Penfold letterbox opposite the Buxton Opera House.
Don’t forget to explore the hills of the Peak District and National Park.
