Buxton Crescent Wellness Spa
The Ensana Buxton Crescent Wellness Spa promises its guests something special: 21st century pampering in the elegant surroundings of one of England’s finest Georgian buildings. This is a spa experience as rich in history as it is in healthy minerals.
Situated in Buxton’s historic Natural Mineral Baths and underneath the Old Hall Hotel, the spa is part of the Ensana Buxton Crescent Hotel. It first opened under Covid-19 restrictions in the autumn of 2020.
The renovated spa brings together the very best of the traditional and the modern. At the heart of the complex is the original thermal pool, fed by mineral water from a nearby ancient spring (St Ann’s Well) that emerges deep from the earth at a temperature of 27.5°C. In addition, there are pampering treatments featuring mineral-packed mud, specially tailored healthy lifestyle programmes, and a host of relaxation and leisure facilities including an indoor/outdoor pool with water features, a sauna, steam and ice rooms, a fitness studio and a beauty salon.
Adjoining the spa complex is the luxury hotel, allowing guests to enjoy a truly luxurious experience – accommodation with all the trimmings. Its 80 tastefully furnished bedrooms and suites offer all that a modern traveller expects. Like the spa, the hotel combines modern comforts with gracious hospitality. The splendid 18th century ballroom – known as the Assembly Rooms – has been fully refurbished, and the spa café and several function rooms incorporate period features. And with a restaurant and bar, guests can round-off a relaxing spa day with an evening of excellent food and drink.
