Buxton is an excellent place for a conference with many companies and organisations choosing the town for its central location, travel links, beautiful surroundings, accommodation, restaurants, activities and its arts and culture.

Travel
The town is well situated between five major cities: Manchester, Sheffield, Derby, Stoke-on-Trent and Nottingham, with rail links to Manchester and direct bus links to Manchester Airport.
Local coach companies, Golden Green Travel, Bentley’s of Buxton and Andrew’s Coaches, can be hired to transport delegates. For more information, please see our Travel page.
Meet & Greet
Discover Buxton Tours offers a ‘meet and greet’ service to welcome you to Buxton, answer questions and co-ordinate activities such as walking tours around the town.
They can also provide guided commentaries and tours around the area – including “A Road Well-Trodden” to Chatsworth – and can arrange Hidden Villages tours to less-well-known but picturesque villages and hamlets hidden the Peak District countryside.
Conference Venues
There are various rooms available in the town for conferences and meetings, with varying capacities and facilities.
No.6 The Square has a meeting room for up to 12 people including use of a piano lounge.
The Pavilion Gardens can accommodate up to 20 people in their board room.
The Old Hall Hotel offers a choice of function rooms for small conferences and meetings of up to 30 people, perfect for business executives or local committees. Their maximum capacity is for 80 seated theatre-style in the restaurant. Comprehensive full or half-day packages are available for delegates; others include overnight accommodation. The Pump Room is available for hire in the evenings and has a capacity of up to 100 people. To make an enquiry, email hello@buxtoncrescenttrust.org.
The Buxton Crescent Health Spa Hotel has seven meeting rooms, from a boardroom to the spectacular Assembly Room, which can accommodate up to 120 guests for an elegant banquet or 186 guests in a theatre style. To make an enquiry, please email buxtonevents@ensanahotels.com.
The Palace Hotel also has seven function rooms of varying size with a capacity of up to 900. Rates vary depending on numbers, overnight accommodation and times of year. At the Devonshire Dome, the University of Derby has lecture theatres and rooms for hire with a capacity of 10 to 1000 people. ***The Dome is currently closed to external events.***
The Pavilion Gardens can also accommodate up to 1000 people in the Octagon Hall.
The Main Hall at the Buxton Methodist Church can also host up to 100 people and meeting and conference rooms are available at the Lee Wood Hotel for up to 100 people.
