Where to Walk

There are some lovely parks in Buxton to walk your dog.  See more information about the parks below here.

Temple Fields – a great place to let your dog stretch its legs. A large, open space away from the road and on the flat if you don’t want to do too much yourself! Near to Poole’s Cavern Visitors Centre and Grin Low Woods, Temple Fields can be accessed from the London Road and Green Lane.
Cote Heath Park – an open playing field near the Buxton Library but surrounded by roads.
Pavilion Gardens – perfect for a gentle stroll.
Ashwood Park – running alongside the River Wye with various small play areas
Fairfield Common – a large open space just outside of town, great for a more considerable walk.

Further afield, into the Peak District National Park, dogs are more than welcome but there are nesting birds on the Dark Peak moorlands, so please keep your dogs on leads.
