Need for Speed?
Like speed? Why not cycle? We are near lots of designated cycle routes. You can hire bikes at Blackwell Mill or Mark Anthony or Peak Ascent cycling shops.
Really like speed? Get “Thrills in the Hills” watching the moto racing at the Buxton Raceway. Find out more about watching sports in the town on our sports page here.
Overground & Underground
Head high up into the trees with Go Ape high-ropes course in Grin Low Woods or dive underground into Poole’s Cavern.
If you’ve already been, there are many other caves in the area, particularly near Castleton. Find out more about caving and potholing in the area here.
Wat’er Doing Now?
More of a water baby? Row or pedalo on the Pavilion Gardens boating lake. Head for the Goyt Valley to try sailing at Errwood Reservoir or canoeing at Tittesworth Reservoir – find out more about water sports in the area here.
Want to be in the water? Swim at Buxton’s swimming pool in the Pavilion Gardens or head to the village of Hathersage for an outdoor swimming experience.
