  • High Peak 40 – the ultramarathon challenge returns in September 2024, starting and ending in Buxton
  • White Hall Wiggle – in April, with The Thomas Theyer Foundation. An exhilarating, multi-terrain race from White Hall Outdoor Education Centre over 6.5miles and with 1364ft of climbing and descent.

Fishing

Licenced river and reservoir locations for fishing can be found all over the Peak District and Derbyshire. The closest location to Buxton for fishing is the Goyt Valley on Errwood and Fernilee Reservoirs managed by Errwood Fly Fishing Club. Licences are available from March to November. Day tickets are available from Jo Royle’s on the Buxton Market Place. Terms and conditions apply.
