Rock Climbing, Bouldering & Abseiling

Climb boldly on the gritstone edges and outcrops in the Peak District National Park, Britain’s oldest and one of the most visited National Parks in the world. The Peak District boasts some 10,000 of the best rock climbs in the UK including some of the most challenging and popular rock climbing routes in Europe.

Popular climbing locations in the Peak District include the eastern edges of Stanage Edge, Froggatt Edge, Curbar Edge and Burbage and the western Roaches and Hen Cloud.

Buxton is positioned firmly at the centre – a great place to base your visit to the area.

Buxton Mountaineering Club
Buxton Mountaineering Club is a small club with an active membership which welcomes experienced climbers of all grades, people who may have climbed before but perhaps not recently and those who are recent to the sport or wanting to transition outdoors. The club climbs weekly during the season at various locations throughout the region.
