Dressed be the Wells
The three “wells” of Buxton are dressed for the 2018 Buxton Wells Dressing Festival with images celebrating Emily Brontë, women suffrage, the First World War and Captain James Cook.
St Anne’s Well, opposite the Crescent and next to the Pump Room, the Children’s Well, at the top of Spring Gardens, and the Higher Buxton pump on the Market Place are dressed by the Buxton Wells Dressing “petallers” and secondary school students in the town. There is also a board in the Pump Room.
They were blessed at a ceremony on Sunday afternoon to give thanks for the gift of water. They will remain dressed only until 15th July so make sure you get a closer look at these intricate, stunning designs this week!
