Buxton Adventure Festival – September 2018

An evening with two climbing icons, Ron Fawcett and Rab Carrington. With over a century of climbing experience between them, Ron and Rab will tell their extraordinary stories onstage at the Pavilion Arts Centre.

Ron is a natural born climber with a legacy that ranks him among the very best in the history of the sport. He was the most famous rock climber in Britain and the first professional, starring in documentaries and on the cover of magazines around the world.

Rab has travelled throughout the world during his climbing career, from the confines of the UK onto Europe, North and South America, the Himalayas of Asia, Africa and Australasia. He founded Rab, the outdoor clothing and equipment manufacturer, in Sheffield in 1981 and, since retiring, continues to travel and climb.

The pair will be interviewed onstage by Ed Douglas, an award-winning writer, author of eleven rock climbing and mountaineer books and current editor of the Alpine Journal.
