Get to know Peak District's wildlife and birds.  Buxton is surrounded by woodlands, hedgerows, streams, cliffs, outcrops and natural heritage literally teeming with birds and wildlife.

From upland oak woodland and moorland, to dipper, flowers, insects and ground nesting birds.  From bluebells to wood warblers, pied flycatchers, wildflowers and butterflies, the area has it all!

The Derbyshire Wildlife Trust was founded 1962 and now has over 14,000 members. We manage 40 nature reserves covering over 1000 acres of land, including examples of moor-land, limestone dales grassland and wood, grit-stone woods, old gravel workings, disused canal and railway sidings, and coal subsidence flashes.
