Gliding & Flying

Discover the freedom to soar like a bird…

Hang gliding, paragliding and flying have become increasingly popular over the last ten years. Witness a long summer weekend or evening, where flocks of flying machines often gather to soar and glide between the hills and dales of some of England’s finest ‘green and pleasant lands’.

Discover the high life - whether you’re out for some big air or just finding your wings there’s a wealth of possibilities right in our back yard. The area around Mam Tor (including the edges above Treak Cliff, Lord's Seat and Rushup Edge) is ideal for catching the breeze…from all directions. If the wind is coming from the south take off from Rushup Edge, from the north, take off from Lord's Seat, or from the east from the summit of Mam Tor itself.
