Buxton Rambling Club offers walkers a chance to experience the Peak District on foot. Club members meet each Sunday and sally forth, no matter the weather! The walks are open to those either familiar with or new to the area, those visiting, or those keen on walking but not particularly confident with maps. Two walks are offered each week: one walk is for stronger walkers and ranges between 8 – 16 miles in length. The second walk ranges from 6 – 8 miles in length and tends to be over less difficult terrain.
Both groups leave from the Pavilion Gardens Car Park in Buxton, the first group meeting at 9.30am and the second group meeting at 10.00am. Where walks start further afield – for instance in Alstonfield, Eyam or Grindon, club members car share. Other walks might involve catching a bus but some walks simply start from the car park itself.
For those interested in joining a walk or the club itself, please contact club representatives on 01298 23441 or 01298 72230. Alternatively, look us up on our website www.buxtonramblingclub.co.uk which has the programme of our walks for the coming months.
