The inaugural Buxton Adventure Festival will take place at the town's Pavilion Arts Centre on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st October 2012. This new venture promises to be a celebration of the very best speakers and films from the world of adventure, travel and sport.  Speakers will include mountain biking downhill world champion Danny Baker and stuntman Gary Connery who was the Queen's sky-diving double at the Olympics opening ceremony in July.

Then from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th November 2012 the Opera House and Pavilion Arts Centre, in conjunction with Buxton Film, will present the Buxton Festival of World Cinema 2012.  In total seventeen films from around the globe will be shown.
